According to the legend, Cleopatra was able to use her beauty to encourage Caesar to help her.

Cleopatra wasn’t only beautiful, however, she was very intelligent as well. She spoke many different languages and could hold her own in a conversation. She had access to a library called the Great Library of Alexandria so she spent a lot of time reading.

Following the death of Caesar, Cleopatra became involved with another Roman Emperor by the name of Marc Anthony. While she was ruling Egypt, Cleopatra helped the country flourish. Following the death of Marc Anthony, however, a Roman opponent by the name of Octavian decided that it was time to get rid of her. He captured Cleopatra and his goal was to humiliate her in order to show how powerful he was. Cleopatra caught on to what was happening and committed suicide.
