The International Association for Information Systems Auditing (IISA) has announced the launch of a new cyber-security certification portfolio that for the first time combines skills training with hands-on exams and certifications. These seven new cyber-security Nexus certifications help professionals plan and develop their careers in a constantly changing field, while helping employers close skills gaps. Global Knowledge, a leading provider of IT and business skills training, is the first training provider authorized by ISACA to offer the CSX curriculum portfolio, which will open in the third quarter of 2015.
A study, “The State of Cyber-Security: Impact in 2015,” conducted by the International Association of Information Systems Auditing and the U.S. Information Security Conference, shows that 82 percent of organizations expect to be vulnerable to cyber-attacks in 2015, while 35 percent are unable to fill vacant cyber-security positions.
Fewer than half of organizations believe their existing security teams are capable of detecting and responding to complex incidents. In addition, according to the “2014 Annual Security Report” released by Cisco, there are still 1 million network security jobs in the world at present, and this gap between supply and demand is exacerbating the emergence of a wide range of computer vulnerabilities, which is strongly demonstrated by the fact that network attack ranks among the largest technical risks in the “2015 Global Risks” report released by the World Economic Forum.
CSX is a professional knowledge tool mentoring and training resource for professionals at every stage of their careers, and it is helping to frame a global network of cyber-security personnel training to combat advanced cyber-threats while providing organizations with confidence that they can identify and hire employees with the right skills.
CSX training and certification is currently available for skilled personnel and those who have worked in the profession throughout their career. Previously, ISACA has offered certification of the Certified Information Security Manager designation to management level personnel, as well as certification of the fundamentals of cyber-security to novices in the field.
Although the certification does not require training before the examination, the proposal to participate in training.
The new certification includes:
- CSX Practitioner — Demonstrates the ability to be the first responder to a cyber-security incident in accordance with established procedures and defined processes (1 certification and 3 training courses; Requirements for CSX Specialist Certification)
- CSX Specialist — Demonstrates effective skills and deep knowledge in one or more of the five areas closely related to the NIST cyber-security framework (Identification, Detection, Protection, Response and Recovery) (5 certifications, 5 training courses; CSX Practitioner Qualification required)
- CSX Expert — Demonstrates the ability of a master/expert cyber-security professional to identify, analyze, respond to, and resolve complex cyber-security incidents (1 certification, 1 training course; No preconditions)
These new certifications are in line with globally recognized standards and frameworks, including the NIST Improving the Critical Infrastructure Cyber-Security Framework, NIST SP 800-53 Edition 4, ISO 27000, and the COBIT 5 framework.
Holding enterprise information technology governance certification, risk and monitoring information system certification ISACA sponsors international President and vice President Robert E Stroud CA Technologies, strategy, and innovation, said: “the ISACA sponsors realized that provide different ways of network security training and certification of the necessity, because global companies need more discovery and effective way to hire skilled professionals In today’s threat environment, rely on a lack of skills training and certification of technical personnel like a read rely on military strategic guidelines but never participate in combat troops.”
CSX Training and Certification was initiated two years ago by the Global Chief Information Security Officer and other cyber-security experts and subjected to rigorous peer review by more than 100 experts. These innovative course delivery and testing programs are the cooperation result between ISACA and Art of Exploitation, an online security group in the Telecommunication Systems, Inc. that is a global leader in cyber-security training and enterprise solutions.
Virtual Network Lab for Innovation
A hands-on, adaptive network lab environment is a key feature of CSX’s training and skills certification. Professionals’ skills and competencies are evaluated in a virtual environment with the help of a real-world network security context.
A learning development tool to evaluate the ability of professionals to perform network security tasks.
Developed by TCS AoE team especially, is to help trainer problem-solving method based on the professional provide demonstration guidance for professionals Recognizing that there are several ways to network security threats to respond, PerformanScore on assessment of various possible complete solution has a unique combination of practical skills and ability The tool will be professional conduct, as compared with the criteria and then the real-time reference adaptive scoring rules so that the instructor is able to provide specific feedback and let the professionals to better learn and understand more effective network security technology ISACA was the first organization to offer performance scores.
Eddie Schwartz, president and chief operating officer of WhiteOps, ISACA’s Cyber Security Task Force, who holds the International Information Systems Auditor Certified Certified Certified Information Security Manager certification, said:
“New CSX authentication will provide a benchmark, the power network security recruitment and career development to shape a better future to maintain the network security skills to keep up with the situation is a dynamic target, and CSX certification will be with the development of industry evolution, and in the face of attack and help ensure that our team has the most valuable new skills, and ensure that the organization to understand whether the job seekers have on the first day of work to deal with the skills of network security events.”
Authentication open case with subsequent education
CSX Practitioner Certification Training will be offered in June 2015, with the exam scheduled for July. Training and examinations for the CSX Specialist Series and CSX Specialist Certification are scheduled for the second half of 2015. In addition to professional knowledge-based learning, CPE requires the licensee to demonstrate skills annually in a laboratory or other skills-based setting and to reexamine every three years for the highest level of certification he or she has achieved.
